What We Do:

Sherwood Park Special Care Centre was established in order to ensure that
special needs children and their families receive the support and adequate
educational opportunities they deserve. The Centre has a rich legacy of serving
these most vulnerable in our society, and has answered the call of desperation
of special needs children and families by consistently providing quality care
and education in disadvantaged communities.

Our Purpose is to:

• To provide a stimulating environment in which the potential of each learner
could be developed to reach maximum level of independence and Life fulfillment
under the circumstances.
• To render educational and support services with dignity and respect ofspecial needs children.
• To provide educational opportunities and resourcesto parents of special needs children,
equipping them to make the best developmental decisions for their children.
• To create awareness about the unique needs and vulnerability of special needs children,
and highlight the importance of community involvement in ensuring their wellbeing.

Where we work:

Although we are situated in Sherwood Park, we serve communities across the Cape Flats
including, Athlone, Hanover Park, Manenberg, Bonteheuwel and Heideveld.
